The first get-together @ Barnes and Noble in El Cerrito was so fun! It was very exciting to connect faces with the identities we only knew from emails. We Brownies had some awkward moments at the beginning when we were trying to figure out who was part of the group and who wasn't, but in the end we were getting along and working together just fine.
Initially we were able to squeeze in everybody at one small round table in the B&N café, but as more of us joined, the more cramped it got. We managed to discuss a bit about the blog and take some pictures before we were finally kicked out by the café lady (very justified, by the way) and decided to relocate. It was extremely hard to think of a place that would take about 10 people though, and we decided that we would plan another get-together some other time.
I loved getting to know all these awesome people and am SO HAPPY that they are the ones I am going to spend my summer experience with.

ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned in my comments to Erin's blog, I was very pleased to see so many of you working together and getting to know each other. The bonding process, in particular, may have been the most valuable thing that came out of this meeting. You write that there was an awkwardness at first but by the time I arrived you all seemed to be the best of buds.
